As India celebrated 74th Republic Day on Thursday, a grand parade was seen at the Kartavya Path in Delhi highlighting the military prowess and cultural diversity of the country. The Republic Parade 2023 included a march by a contingent of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Indian military forces, tableaux from different states and other key moments.

The parade highlighted India's defence capability and cultural and social heritage on a long
revamped marching ceremonial boulevard from British colonial rule. President Droupadi Murmu
and chief guest Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar
and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were seen at the 74th Republic Day Parade at the Kartavya
Path.
This year, only made-in-India weapons were on display at the parade. In fact, instead of the 25-
pounders the indigenous 105-mm Indian Field Guns (IFG) offered the 21-gun salute to President
Murmu.

A total of 23 tableaux – 17 from states and Union territories and six from various ministries and
departments were showcased during the parade.

During the parade, Uttar Pradesh's tableau depicted Lord Ram and Goddess Sita being welcomed
by the people of Ayodhya on their return from exile.

The tableau of Jammu and Kashmir portrayed the cave shrine of Amarnath with the theme 'Naya
