Management accounting combines accounting, finance and management with the business skills and techniques one needs to add real value to any organisation. Management accountants are qualified to work across the business, not just in finance, advising managers on the financial implications of big decisions, formulating business strategy and monitoring risk – much more than just crunching numbers.

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants is more popularly known in the world as CIMA. Based in the UK, this is one of the oldest professional bodies in the world. CIMA will turn hundred years of age in 2019. The qualifications has even been made mandatory in some countries for employment in financial and accounting positions

CIMA professionals are not only one of the highest paid in the world, they're also one of the most sought after by corporations and businesses worldwide. To put it in even simpler words, a CIMA professional is an MBA+ICWA+CA, and one who is eligible to practice his profession from the Americas to Australia. For example, a CIMA professional is also awarded CPA (US), hence the dual qualifications of a CIMA professional: ACMA and CGMA.

Most accounting qualifications train people for private practice, working on external audit and tax issues. CIMA prepares people for a career in business.
